Server Changelog 2016

From TalonRO Wiki

October, 1st, 2016

Deep within the New World, the Bifrost rainbow bridge yields to Mora Village. Little is known about the inhabitants of this mysterious community located in the cave maze, but its inhabitants have been long awaiting brave adventurers who are ready to unlock its secrets - and with it, untold new treasures! Artifact collectors, craft makers, tailors, and researchers have all descended into Mora to learn more of this new world, and all that lies inside.

Mora Village is now accessible through the Warp Girl - or for those adventurers who prefer to enter through time-honored means, available through various quests continuing onward from the New World and Episode 13.3.

Mora and the companion Bifrost Fields are home to some extraordinary quests. While the nature of these missions are waiting to be discovered, they'll be worth your while thanks to enhanced EXP rewards given for successful completion to better match the Pre-Renewal world! Discover some of Bifrost's beautiful fields and explore the world beyond Mora Village with your fellow Talonians!

Quests

New quests are waiting to be discovered in Mora Village - some of which will dispense helpful Mora Coins, which can be used for a variety of new, yet-to-be-discovered purposes within Mora. Some of the following exciting new adventures include:

  • Theore's Request to help find fairies located in Splendide.
  • Helping Lope and Euridi in solving a mystery.
  • Chesire's New Day inside of the Dicastes Diel with help in the Scarab Hall.
  • Great new Daily Quests inside of Mora with Bow-Wow, Woof-Grr, Elephantine, and the Soul Guide.
  • Finding Research Tools and helping a fellow researcher in Mora with new discoveries.
  • Become part of the Knights of the Neighborhood and assist with various tasks around Bifrost.

Instance Dungeon: The Hazy Forest

Located within the Bifrost Fields, The Hazy Forest is guarded by a Laphine soldier - though those who wander into the Hazy Forest may find themselves lost for good. You and your party will be given a time limit to complete your way through this new, exciting dungeon - and with it a chance to encounter new and difficult monsters! The threat of the Lost Dragon through the forest, or as part of the Wandering Guardian quest, may yield some rare and wonderful treasures. What will you and your team discover within the Hazy Forest?

  • Note: this instance utilizes a new Forum Account-wide cooldown rather than a character-based cooldown. The duration of this cooldown remains unchanged from their official time.

Equipment and Enchantments

The magic of Mora extends further into an ability to enchant three very distinct items: Army Padding, Pendant of Guardian and Loki's Muffler. What new enchantments await you on these items? There's only one way to find out!

Each of these items may be enchanted by spending Mora Coins. On a successful enchantment, these items will receive three unique abilities. Should you enchant the item(s) again, new enchantments will replace the first. Failed enchantments will result in the Army Padding will be destroyed, while other items will be unenchanted.

  • Note: only these three items are available for Mora enchantment within TalonRO's Pre-Renewal environment. Furthermore, some of the higher raw stat-based combinations have been removed as well for our Pre-Renewal setting.

The intrepid Cat Hand Group, setting sail from their home far off on a distant shore, crashed into the shores of an unknown reef after a calamitous storm washed their ship, the Nabeeho, onto dry land. Marooned upon this mysterious island, the members of the Cat Hand Group have established their new home on the island of Malangdo.

Like the adventures in Bifrost, Malangdo is now accessible through the Warp Girl - or for those adventurers who prefer to enter through time-honored means, available through various quests continuing onward from the New World and Episode 13.3.

Malangdo may be a far-off island, but the adventures and action are far from distant! Malangdo and the Cat Hand Group need your help in a variety of ways - from playing games, to running errands, to locating items to help with ship cleaning and repair, and much more. Moreover, these new quests will give you enhanced EXP as a way to reward you even more for your adventures on Malangdo Island!

Plus, new and challenging monsters and items have been adjusted for TalonRO's Pre-Renewal environment, along with new accessories, rental weapons, enchantments, instanced dungeons - and so much more! Explore the island of feline adventure in Malangdo!

Quests

Quests around Malangdo are awaiting you to answer their call - and through these quests and other methods on Malangdo, you'll be able to earn Class Coins - which are explained in our Malangdo Enchantments section. In Malangdo, you'll be able to assist with the following fun and rewarded quests, such as:

  • Clean the Ship with some of the crew
  • Play with Baby Cats on the island
  • Help the bad cats in danger with some food trouble
  • Play with the Cat Gamers on their minigames throughout the island
  • Assist with the trouble of the Noisy Machine
  • Participate in Malangdo's Compass Game
  • Gather up Yggdrasil Berries from across the land
  • Help Chef Nyas with food delivery throughout Malangdo

These quests will yield some wonderful rewards and enhanced EXP bonuses - and many quests are repeatable as well!

Enchantments

A variety of special enchantments can be made in Malangdo using Class Coins, where the kind of coin used will help to determine the enchantment given! Mayomayo on the island is the member of the Cat Hand Group who will be able to assist you with enchantment - and thanks to a handy machine nearby, can convert coins between various types. The machine can also convert a new type of item - the Silvervine Fruit - into coins as well.

  • For more details on the enchantments from Malangdo, visit our TalonRO Wiki! You can even add to this page as you discover more about the Malangdo Enchantments themselves.

Many different kinds of level 3 and level 4 weapons can be enchanted now, thanks to Mayomayo and his special skills! However, each enchanted item will require two cost structures:

  • A cost multiplier based on the type of enchantment given. For example, a E-Class enchantment will have a lower cost, while an A-Class enchantment will have a higher base cost.
  • An additional cost based on the item you want to enchant - where some items will cost more coins to enchant than others.

With this powerful new level of enchantment available on a variety of items, there are many combinations of things to explore! However, there are several very important features to the new Malangdo Enchantment System:

  • Silvervine Fruit, a new item available from the Reward Guru (Pets & Misc option) in Prontera, can be purchased in quantities of 10 Silvervine Fruits for 1 TC, and 45 Silvervine Fruits for 4 TCs.
    • Enchantments can be reset using 1 Silvervine Fruit.
    • Silvervine Fruits can be converted into Class-A Enchantment coins with Mayomayo's Machine NPC.
    • Silvervine Fruits will also allow you access into certain Malangdo-related instanced dungeons as well!
  • There is no chance of failure with Mayomayo's refinement technique - you'll always end up with some kind of enchantment! Some enchantments, of course, are better than others. Cards and refinements aren't lost as well.
  • You must have the item equipped before speaking to the Mayomayo in order to begin or to or reset any enchantments.

There are six types of enchantment levels: Classes E through A, and also a special rare item not available from Silvervine Fruits, called the Seagod's Anger. You can find this rare item in your adventures throughout Malangdo - and if you do, hold onto it, as it yields some of the best enchantments possible! Class coins ascend in their strength from E all the way through A and the Seagod's Anger enchantments.

  • For Class A coins and Seagod's Anger enchantments, you'll be able to select from three possible enchantment options as well: ranged bonuses, melee bonuses, and magical bonuses. These bonuses have been adjusted appropriately for TalonRO's environment - and it's up to you to discover what they are!
  • Various edits have been made to the enchantments in order to make them work in our pre-Renewal environment:
    • Electric Guitar has been removed from the list of items which can be enchanted.
    • Bazerald and Excalibur are unable to receive INT enchantments.
    • Staves may only receive a maximum of DEX+1 with enchantments.
    • All MDEF and DEF enchantments have been removed.
    • The maximum raw stats enchantment is capped at +3.
    • The raw ASPD enchantment is expressed a percent-based ASPD enchantment.
    • For the Fighting Spirit enchantment, the ATK bonus has been reduced by one-third (1/3).
    • The CRIT bonus on the Sharp enchantment has been reduced by one-half (1/2)
    • The Spell enchantment provides extra damage with elemental magic attacks, such as fire, water, wind and earth.

Rental Weapons, New Ammunition, and Cat Hand Items

A wandering merchant in Malangdo has collected a number of special and rare weapons throughout his travels with the Cat Hand Group. Being marooned on the island, he cannot bring them to his final destination - but it doesn't mean that he won't let you try them out! With an assortment of weapons of all kinds, the wandering merchant will let you test out their power for a fee, of course. These weapons have been outfitted to TalonRO's enviroment - so their latent power will be made potent and applicable in our Pre-Renewal environment!

Furthermore, the items found on Malangdo have let the Cat Hand Group craft new and unique kinds of ammunition for Gunslingers and Ninjas! Be certain to explore the island for these special kinds of ammunition to power even greater levels of gunslinging and ninjaing!

Finally, the Cat Hand Group's flagship items - the Cat's Hand Glove [1] accessory and Cat's Club [3] can be made through a special process from members of the Cat Hand Group on Malangdo island. You'll need to explore around to learn more about how to make these potent items - but the hunt will likely be worth it for their special properties!

Instance Dungeons: Octopus Cave and Malangdo Culverts

Little did the Cat Hand Group know that the mysteries of the island would also contain some treacherous adventures in store! The new Octopus Cave instance will challenge your group through a maze of fighting an evil octopus lurking deep within the cave. To open this instance, you'll need a special Octopus Hunting Stick in your inventory (which surely some of the Malangdo inhabitants can assist you with!) - and from there you'll venture into the cave to fight the legs of the enemy one at a time. The Octopus Hunting Stick is a rental item that you can purchase for Silvervine Fruits! If you can eventually defeat the Disgusting Octopus at the end, you'll earn some great items, EXP, and coins - and you'll be able to repeat this instance after a few hours as well!

The Malangdo Culverts are in desperate need of cleaning - hydras and other issues are clogging up the drains within the culverts, and the Cat Hand Group desperately needs assistance with these efforts! You and your party will need to clear any active drains from the various fish monsters and others around the drain, and you'll need to do so quickly! Failing to clear the drain in time will result in some contaminated stems from seaweed to emerge - too many of these, and you'll be asked to leave the culvert cleaning! However, if you and your party have managed to do a good job, you'll face the enemy of the culvert - and depending on how you've done will determine which monster you'll face! However, your rewards will come at the end if you can make it all the way through, though this party-based activity is harder than it seems! Like with the Octopus Cave instance, you will also require a rental item to enter this instance. Purchase the Seagod's Protection item with Silvervine Fruits to enter.

  • Note: these instances utilize a new Forum Account-wide cooldown rather than a character-based cooldown. The duration of this cooldown remains unchanged from their official time.

The magic of Port Malaya has just gotten even better thanks to new updates to this exciting city! With two new instanced dungeons, new items, and much more, Port Malaya is ready for you to climb aboard the Jeepney and set off with your friends to new adventures! Plus, we're keeping a good thing going with increased EXP bonuses for quests in Port Malaya - ensuring that your explorations around will be well worth your time. Finally, the addition of the Pintados Festival means that the party in Port Malaya can get really fun with a little community help!

Instance Dungeons: Bangungot Hospital and the Bakonawa Extermination

Nurse Las lurks around the creepy Bangungot Hospital, and fears for what lies inside of it. It will take a lot of speaking and investigation with the various citizens of Port Malaya to learn all about the abandoned hospital and what lies inside. The more you learn about the chilling, haunted hospital, the more you might feel like escaping Port Malaya! However, being the brave and daring adventurer that you are, you'll be ready to tackle the evil that awaits you inside. Once you've finally made your way into the Bangungot's Room on the second floor of the hospital, the real challenge will begin! You'll be tasked with rescuing the patients inside - but only if you can evade the wicked Bangungot within! This exciting and heart-pounding challenge will leave you on the edge of your seat!

The Bakonawa Extermination instance is a call from the chief of Port Malaya, who requires the assistance of only the very best and brightest to eliminate a great threat from the Port. With several people having gone missing from the city, the village chief determines that the only root cause of these disappearances can be due to the presence of the Bakonawa. However, recent rituals to keep it at bay no longer seem to be working - and with your help in setting traps across the area, you'll be able to fight against this terror that has its grip on the Port! However, summoning the Bakonawa forth may be more than you've bargained for - so you'll need to prepare for a fight unlike any other!

  • Note: these instances utilize a new Forum Account-wide cooldown rather than a character-based cooldown. The duration of this cooldown remains unchanged from their official time.

New Items

Several items are now available with this update to Port Malaya, including a useful new working item and new slot capacities for items dropped by Port Malaya's toughest monsters, including the following:

  • Greater Agimat - Useable item
    • Increase physical and magic damage by 10% to Demon race monsters for 20 minutes.
  • Bayani Kalasag [1] - Shield
    • For every 3 refines, decreases Boss monster damage by 1%.
  • Bayani Buwaya Sack Cloth [1] - Garment
    • Healing capacity and healing item effect increases 1% per 3 refines.
    • 7% damage decrease from Water, Earth, Fire and Wind property monsters.
  • Bayani Bakonawa Scale Armor [1] - Armor

    • All Stats + 1.

    • For every refine, MDEF + 1.
    • Refine Rate 7-10: Increases walking speed.

Pintados Festival

Though Port Malaya may be plagued with new monsters, the joyous people of the Port have lots of reasons to celebrate! The new Pintados Festial starts with the Festival Helper Boy in Port Malaya, who will require community help from lots of people all over Midgard to help him kickstart the celebration in the city! When everyone contributes large numbers of items to start the festival, then everyone has a reason to celebrate! When the Pintados Festival is underway, there will be a week-long celebration in Port Malaya. During this time, a special tattooist will be able to make you powerful tattoos - and each tattoo type has a special, latent power that you'll be able to draw forth during this special time of celebration. Kick the part off in Port Malaya with your friends all across the world!

TalonRO's latest party-based minigame challenge continues to bring the fun through several new enhancements and additions. With added difficulty layers, helpful notifications while inside of the challenge, and enhanced options to make the challenge scalable to all parties - the Wave Challenge on TalonRO is in its best form yet! These recent changes include the following.

Wave Challenge Edits

  • The difficulty of the challenge now increases at a greater rate when your party is further in the Unlimited Wave Challenge.
  • Monster teleport has been disabled, as has the Ice Wall skill.
    • Prior to this change, Mercenaries were rendered ineffective due to their triggering monster teleport via rude attack.
  • All parties will now have 60 minutes to complete a floor in the Unlimited Wave Challenge.
    • Previously, this was 45 minutes.
  • A notification has been added to the Wave Challenge which will alert you if a party is inside the Timed Wave Challenge, along with the amount of time they have remaining.
  • The prices of mercenaries, Kafra Agents, and the point distribution per monster have been slightly edited.
  • Guild Storage has been disabled in within rental Kafra Agents.
  • Beginning at floor 41, there will be a low chance of spawning Lighthalzen Biolabs level 3 & 4 mini-bosses per floor.
  • Beginning at floor 71, there will be a low chance increasing with each floor of spawning one strong MVP from the Lighthalzen Biolabs level 3 & 4 floor primarily.
  • An option has been added to allow party members to leave the Wave Challenge early. Previously, leaving the challenge and logging out would result in forfeiture of points. Party members may now leave early by talking to the Wave Official NPC.
    • Doing so will incur a penalty of 20% of the points you would normally get. There will be an additional fee of 5% of your points, applied to your party points. Example:
      • You have 10 members in your party and gained 50,000 points.
      • Normally, every member would get 50,000 / 10 = 5,000 points.
      • If you leave early, you will get 5,000 points, minus a 20% fee, so 4,000 points.
      • The party points will be reduced by your points, plus a 5% fee. So 50,000 - 5,250 = 44,750 points left.
      • The party will now have to split the points among 9 players instead of 10.
  • The skill sets and stats of all the Mercenaries have been boosted slightly, with particular attention to lower-level mercenaries.
  • Party members will now only gain points if they are physically present on the wave-related maps.

Wave Challenge

TalonRO's Wave Challenge receives even more recently implemented boosts and features, including the following:

  • Prizes are now available within the Wave Challenge.
    • A single Wave Challenge Box can be purchased for 17,500 points, as earned by playing the minigame. This box may contain a number of wonderful items - what will be inside of yours? There's only one way to find out!
    • The Analyze Eye Costume (account-bound) can be purchased for 75,000 points. This exciting costume has been eagerly anticipated by many - and the chance to earn yours can be realized at last!
    • TalonRO staff will continue to closely to monitor point earning and distribution in order to assure that points are scaled appropriately with the challenge. This may mean, but is not limited to, needing to change the point requirements for prizes at a later date should a change be determined as necessary. Thanks to all players who have helped gather these data by participating - and we hope to continue to make the Wave Challenge an exciting, party-based feature!
    • A full list of prizes can be read on our TalonRO Wiki at: https://wiki.talonro.com/Wave_Challenge
  • Bugs have been fixed as they related to the display of Mercenary prices within the Wave Challenge.
  • The price of both Mercenaries and Return Tickets have been slightly lowered to be more affordable.
  • The price premium for Mercenaries spawning in the center location of the challenge has been reduced to just a 10% premium point cost; previously, this was a 25% price increase.
  • Prices in Timed Mode only for purchasing both Mercenaries and Return Tickets has been decreased to 50% compared to Unlimited; this previously was 30%.
  • A new feature has been added to reduce the spawn time between waves. The default time is 15 seconds, which can be reduced to as little as 6 seconds. This feature is likely to prove helpful to parties which are tightly organized so as to handle the quicker spawn times - in turn saving your party more time if used effectively!

Gameplay Edits

  • A new message has been added to the Hunting Board, which will now display the number of missions which you have completed in a week.
  • The Withered Branch Staff has been fixed to give its proper +15% MATK; previously, the staff was giving +15 raw MATK.
  • Platinum Skill quests have been properly fixed; previously, these quests were not working across all second classes.
    • For example: an Assassin may now complete the Thief Platinum Skill Quest.

TamTam's Gift

  • Announcements will now appear in response to TamTam's appearance within the TamTam's Gift region. These announcements include:
    • An announcement will appear when TamTam has stopped roaming around the active region. This is designed to better let players know when TamTam is active or inactive.
  • An announcement mentioning the map name when TamTam is actively roaming around the region. This will help players locate him more easily within the active monthly region.
  • The Copper Coin and Bronze Coin droprate boost on the current TamTam's Gift maps have been lowered, because the influx of both currencies ended up way higher than intended. At the current rate they would crash our economy in no time. Please understand that certain changes are simply necessary for the server to run the next years. We will have to rethink the overall concept with the new Prontera TamTam's Gift, including a revamp of the Champion monsters.

Pet Evolutions

  • The following new pets have been added into the Pet Evolution system:
    • Giant Whisper
    • Draco
    • Bradium Golem
    • Jaguar
  • These pets will be available along with the other current pets when beginning the related quests with Beastmaster Flash.

Vanilla Endless Tower

  • Implemented Vanilla Endless Tower:
    • Plays exactly the same as the regular Endless Tower except with Vanilla mechanics.
    • All monsters drop items at regular rates, rather than at 50% like regular ET. (This may change in the future.)

Quest Changes

  • An item requirement change has been made in the Peco Peco Hairband Quest:
    • The Spiky Band item requirement has been replaced with Puppy Headband.
  • The Hunting Board Bronze Coin bonus can now be obtained seven times per week, rather than one time per day. Players who can't log in every day can now get the full amount of Bronze Coins by doing all runs on one day for example.

Item Changes

  • Fixed a lot of headgear descriptions that still had "..." in them. We fixed a bunch of item scrips at the same time:
    • Cast rate of Mammonite on Dokebi Horn increased from 1 to 7%.
    • Red Hat now drops Mochi instead of Rice Cake, plus at a higher rate.
    • Dolor Hat now casts Lex Aeterna at a certain chance when doing physical attacks.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug in Bingo that would sometimes warp too few people inside.
  • Fixed various bugs in the Pet Evolution missions.
  • Fixed MVPs in Gemini's GMC giving @killannounce notifications.
  • Fixed some item names not matching or looking weird.
  • Fixed some possible questlog crashes.
  • The Violet Fear NPC in Endless Tower should now craft your swords again.
  • Various bugfixes for Wave Challenge.
  • Fixed a bug with the skill Crimson Fire Formation.
  • Fixed various rubber-banding issues with monsters.

Gameplay Changes

  • The Reverse Orcish effect has been changed to 60 seconds; this reduces the duration for which this status effect will impact your character's appearance!
  • The Dressing Coach now features more recently implemented costumes for your fashion testing needs!
  • GM Challenge and Wave Challenge now show an announcement in the lobby when a party goes in.
  • Treasure Porings will no longer spawn on highly farmed maps such as Geffenia.
  • Daily Spin has a higher chance of giving you a reward. (Less no-pays)
  • Poring Catch and Poring Rally need at least five players now and the amount of winners picked depends on number of participants. Poring Catch and Poring Rally are now Novice-only games to ensure everyone has a fair chance of winning. (Players without transcendent characters barely had a chance of winning.)
  • The rewards for some minigames have been slightly lowered (except Monster Races), because they generated way more Copper Coins than intended. (They are still greatly boosted compared to pre-Meiadrir.)
  • The Bonus Bundle is now activated at the Rental Master for the cost of 100 Bronze Coins.
  • GM Challenge no longer gives out Copper Coins per floor to prevent dual clienting abuse. The 50 Copper Coin reward when finishing is still there of course.

Bug Fixes - Confirmed Changes

  • All Novice characters which were previously stuck in the old Novice Ground have been successfully relocated into the new Prontera-based novice tutorial.
  • The Charge Attack skill now properly pushes back intended targets by one cell; previously, this bug caused the target to be pushed back by multiple cells.
  • The Pet Evolution Quests should now be properly working as intended. Previous bugs included being unable to complete a related daily task or start the quest series even when presenting a loyal pet.
  • On Wave Challenge, made various tweaks to the cost of mercenaries and points gained. Also fixed a few minor bugs.

  • Added additional buffs and debuffs to certain Poring Rally mobs.
  • Fixed an exploit within the single-version Monster Races (many thanks to the person who reported this!).
  • Haunted House and Bingo will no longer warp players who are AFK in the minigame.
  • Champion Monsters have been made passive in order to protect new or undergeared players when in the region; previously, these monsters were aggressive in nature.

Daily Spin

  • The Daily Spin NPC now provides an indication when a new tier cycle has been started. This way, you will be able to more clearly determine if you have missed a day in consecutive spins with the NPC.
  • The NPC will also alert you when a new prize tier is active on your account through regular consecutive use!

TamTam's Gift

  • Bronze Coin droprates within the maps in TamTam's Gift region have been adjusted to match the Copper Coin droprates.

Amazing Summer Race

  • As per player request and careful consideration, the duration of a round is now 1 hour instead of 45 minutes.
  • Removed the 100,000 zeny fee when exchanging 3 badges to 1 other badge.

  • New players will begin their TalonRO journey from inside the "job changer" building in Prontera, where they'll be given an opportunity to enter into normal gameplay as soon as desired! A new Novice Tutorial will start with the Manuela NPC in the building, who will set players on a quest around Prontera to speak with helpful NPCs and others about TalonRO's basic features and introductions.
  • Players performing the new tutorial will receive EXP and levels as a result of their efforts, along with helpful items and more from these beginner quests.

Pet Evolution System

  • The Pet Evolution System has been introduced with Meiadrir. This system will allow you to take one of several pets and evolve them into a second stage pet, granting you additional bonuses for enhancing these loyal pets.
  • You will need to also earn reputation with the Beastmaster in order to evolve your pet through a series of regular quests.
  • Original base pets must all be loyal when attempting evolution, and only the following pets can be evolved:
    • Peco Peco to Grand Peco
    • Orc Warrior to High Orc
    • Savage Bebe to Savage
    • Baby Desert Wolf to Desert Wolf
    • Picky to Condor
    • Yoyo to Choco
    • Munak to Yao Jun
    • Dokebi to Am Mut
    • Alice to Alicel

  • Evolved pets will all require a new pet food item, Sweet Mango, as their base pet food. This item is available from the Pet Food NPCs for 2,000 Zeny.
  • When fighting a boss monster with your evolved pet present, defeated boss-type monsters have a small percentage chance to drop a rare item called a Special Bonbon. This item, when used on any pet, will vastly increase their intimacy levels - allowing you to get your special pet to loyal status considerably faster.

Tam Tam's Gift

  • Monster and Map of the Week have been replaced by the all-new Tam Tam's Gift system.
  • Each month, a set of maps will be defined as the region which has received Tam Tam’s Gift.
  • Monsters on the map are given a chance to drop Bronze Coins and Copper Coins at equal rates.
  • New Champion Monsters will also be featured on the map. These monsters are powered-up versions of existing mobs found within the region. When defeated, they will drop Copper Coins and also provide substantively more EXP than their regular versions.
    • Champion Monsters will spawn when a given amount of normal mobs on the map have been defeated. An announcement will be made on the map when their presence has been spotted.
    • Champion Monsters are passive in order to protect new or undergeared players when in the region.
  • Tam Tam, TalonRO's lovable mascot, will also be lurking around the chosen monthly region. If found, TamTam will be running around and dropping various small prizes. Follow him around, but be careful as he may disappear at any moment!
  • Treasure Porings may also spawn in more abundance on these maps within Tam Tam's Gift monthly region.

Treasure Porings

  • Treasure Porings have been added to TalonRO. These mobs spawn across the world of Midgard in random locations on any possible map.
  • There are eight types of Treasure Porings:
    • Gemring, which drops various gemstones
    • Coppering, which drops Copper Coins
    • Bronzering, which drops Bronze Coins
    • Armoring, which drops various helpful equipment
    • Orering, which drops valuable ores and metals for refining
    • Goldring, which drops a number of gold-related items
    • Menagering, which drops rare pet-related items
    • Rainbowring, which has a small chance of opening a portal to the fabled Ginnunggap upon death.
  • Only one of each type of Treasure Poring will be in the world at any given time. This means there will only be one Rainbowring, one Armoring, one Coppering (and so forth) available at a time. Upon death, a new one will spawn somewhere in the world.

The Ginnunggap

  • A new special event region, the Ginnunggap, has been added. This region tied with the Treasure Poring feature is home to a number of special porings - called Magirings. Only one portal may be open at a time, and the portal will open only for several seconds. Once inside, the map will be PvP enabled, and players will have 15 minutes to complete their way through the Ginnungggap, at which point they will be warped out.
  • Players also have a small chance to encounter the MVP of the Ginnunggap, the God Poring, who may drop some exceptionally valuable and new items!
  • Players may open the Ginnunggap with one of two possible methods:
    • By finding and defeating a Rainbowring among the Treasure Porings.
    • By forging and using a mythical item called the Dagger of Edda. The methods to use and make this dagger are largely unknown, and will remain a great mystery which can only be solved by the most intrepid adventurers. This makes the Dagger of Edda one of the most rare items in existence!
      • Items and methods to forge this item may be found all across the world through various methods, events, and people. If you locate items which seem new or intriguing, hang onto them!
      • A certain group of items will need to be forged into the Dagger of Edda, which can be performed by taking these items to a skilled Blacksmith or Whitesmith. If successful, then the Dagger of Edda may indeed be created!
      • Once successfully completed, this item must be used in conjunction with the Shrine of Edda, which may also be located anywhere or in anyone! Be on the lookout for where and who this might be...

Daily Spin

  • The Daily Slot Machine NPC has been added into Prontera. This NPC can be used once per day, one time per forum account (players may use whichever character they wish).
  • Rewards increase as the Daily Spin is used each day. When it has been used for one week consecutively (without missing a day), players may be eligible to win a prize from a second tier of better prizes, as well as prizes from the first tier. This continues all the way into four tiers, with the highest tier being reached after three weeks of using the NPC every day.
  • If a player misses a day, the prize tier shall reset back to the first tier.
  • If a player wins a prize from tier four (the Jackpot), then the prize tier shall also reset back to the first tier.
  • There is a chance that no prize will be earned on a given use of the NPC, but this will not impact moving up into a new tier. As long as the NPC is used every day, players may work their way through the prize tiers.
  • Simply said: the longer you use the Daily Spin NPC, the better the prizes may be!
  • The Daily Spin NPC provides an indication when a new tier cycle has been started. This way, you will be able to more clearly determine if you have missed a day in consecutive spins with the NPC.
  • The NPC will also alert you when a new prize tier is active on your account through regular consecutive use!

  • DEF now features a formula used to introduce decay to soften the benefit of uncommonly high DEF builds while enhancing other aspects for the vast majority of players. These changes include several important dimensions:
    • DEF only will decay by roughly 3% per monster when targeting a player. This was previously 5% decay.
    • DEF immediately begins decaying when a player is attacked by a single (1) monster. This previously started only with 3 or more monsters.
    • For the purposes of DEF decay, boss-type monsters count as two (2) monsters, and MVP monsters will count as three (3) monsters equivalency when being attacked.
  • Mobs in Lighthalzen Biolab level 3 (lhz_dun03) have their spawn amounts edited to allow for the area to be a more manageable environment for leveling and gameplay.
    • Each type of Lighthalzen Biolab 3 mob now spawns at a rate of 15; previously, this was 30 of each type.
  • The Plant Cultivate skill's spawned plants will have less of an interaction effect when used with equipment that allows for specific items to be dropped on the plant's death.
